Alabama Shakes Bio
Formed in Athens, Alabama, in 2009, Alabama Shakes built an acclaimed sound around blues-influenced rock, soulful songwriting, and the commanding vocals of frontwoman and guitarist Brittany Howard. The band's debut album, Boys & Girls (2012), introduced a wider audience to songs including “Hold On” and earned four Grammy nominations.
The group's second album, Sound & Color (2015), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won four Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album. Standout tracks include “Don't Wanna Fight,” “Gimme All Your Love,” and “Future People.” Howard's vocal presence and the band's energetic, guitar-forward performances have been central to their reputation.
Alabama Shakes had an extended hiatus beginning in 2016, so this September 2026 date is notable for fans awaiting the band's return to the stage. The supplied event information lists the Santa Barbara Bowl appearance but does not provide verified details about the group's earlier dates at this venue or a confirmed tour name.
